Biography
Koko-Jean & The Tonics are pure dynamite: raw soul, fiery funk and rock’n’roll that grabs you by the collar.
Based in Barcelona but built with a universal pulse, the band is led by Koko-Jean Davis — a fierce, magnetic frontwoman with a voice powerful enough to burn down any stage.
Alongside her stand three players who don’t just accompany — they roar:
Dani Baraldés, guitars that bite. Víctor Puertas, a Hammond soaked in deep blues. Marc Benaiges, drums that hit like a runaway train.
Together they shape a sound that blends hot soul with razor-sharp riffs, heavy grooves and the electric energy of the smoky clubs where real R&B was born.
From their early EPs Hair Whip and Please Mr. Milton to their full-length albums Shaken & Stirred and Love Child, the band has carved out a style that doesn’t ask for permission: it hits straight, shakes you up and leaves a mark. Their music feels both classic and modern — like Motown meeting gritty rock in a neon-lit alley.
Live, they’re something else entirely: a guaranteed party with wild groove, unstoppable stage presence and that “this only happens here and now” energy. They’re not a band you listen to sitting down — they're a band you feel.
Koko-Jean & The Tonics:
soul with scars, funk with attitude, rock’n’roll with bite.
